Help us Feed Local Families this Christmas

Let's fill more plates this festive season

Christmas should be a time of joy — not worry. But for more than 100,000 people in our region, it’s a reminder of what’s missing: food, security, and peace of mind.

There are many ways you can get involved and support locals doing it tough this Christmas:

  • Donate food or funds to our appeal. You can find a list of our most needed items on our Christmas Appeal poster. All financial donations over $2 are tax deductible.

  • Start a Reverse Advent Box. Each day, add a non-perishable item, then drop it off to FoodShare in time for Christmas.

  • Join our Regular Giving Program. Donate $25 a month and give a gift that helps locals well into the new year and a brighter year ahead.

  • Support our Charity Gift Wrapping at MYER Centrepoint throughout December by bringing your Christmas gifts to our volunteer to be wrapped for you family and friends.

Together, we can make sure more families experience the joy of Christmas.

Christmas Wrapped By FoodShare

FoodShare and Hive Rotary are teaming up to offer gift wrapping throughout December!

No gift is too big, too small, or too oddly shaped, bring them along and we’ll take care of the rest. Drop your gifts off, have them beautifully wrapped, and collect them later.

We’ll be operating daily at entrance to MYER near the escalators, and Shop C8A, MYER Centrepoint from 4 December to 24 December, operating during MYER Centrepoint’s trading hours.

We’ll have a donation crate ready for any non-perishable items you’d like to drop off.

Come by, get your gifts wrapped, and help support locals in need.

Give Differently and Change a Year This Christmas

Across our region, 100,000 people will face Christmas unsure where their next meal is coming from. That’s not the spirit of the season, but it’s the reality for too many. This Christmas, let’s give differently.

Your monthly donation helps one local family access the food, stability, and dignity we all deserve, not just today, but all year round.

Because when we give differently, we create lasting change.

Thank You for Driving Thru

Our inaugural FoodDrive for FoodShare was a wonderful success thanks to our amazing community.

Twenty-six cars visited throughout the day, contributing an incredible 688kg of food to support local families this festive season. Donors included individuals, families, neighbours and community groups—each bringing essential items and big hearts. We loved seeing moments of generosity, from a full gluten-free donation to a supporter receiving a 10% discount at the store after mentioning they were buying items to donate. What a beautiful display of community spirit!

Thank You To Our Volunteers

None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteer team. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped the day run seamlessly, and a special acknowledgement of our Community Pantry Coordinator, Nicole, for leading such a fantastic event.
